2. You are a licensed Registered Nurse or a Provider. Student nurses without a license number do not meet criteria.

The AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course is designed for Registered Nurses who are currently in the intrapartum setting. Ideally, AWHONN recommends the RN to have experience with monitoring patients full-time before taking the IFM course. AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring Course: May 22nd, 2025 (07:30 - 17:00 PST) Scripps Mercy Hospital - San Diego

This course addresses principles of fetal heart monitoring and may be used as a knowledge assessment tool to validate comprehension of experienced perinatal clinicians. This course includes lecture, hands-on skill stations including performing Leopold maneuvers, placement of an intrauterine pressure catheter and fetal spiral electrode, interpretation of fetal monitoring tracings using a case-based approach, identification of physiologically based clinical interventions, and communication and risk management principles. Online prerequisite education is required prior to attending the one-day course. Successful completion of the online knowledge validation test is required to receive CNE/CME for the course. This course can be used to support preparation for certification examinations.

CNE/CME contact hours: 11.5/11.5 (0.5 hours pharmacology credits available)*

Completion Window:
Online learning must be completed by May 19th in order to attend the in-person workshop. Online portal opens 30 days prior to the in-person workshop date. After completing the in-person workshop, participants have 30 days to complete the Intermediate FHM test online.

Cancellations: 10% admin and banking fee for cancellations prior to registration closing, which is one week before the workshop. Balance of refund will be reimbursed within 6-10 days of cancellation. Note: if you cancel on or after registration closes on May 15, or if you do not complete your online learning in time, NO refund is granted.
