To be considered for hire into obstetric nursing, many major hospital organizations either require or give a strong recommendation for the completion of OB continuing education beyond nursing school.

The MNNC course is a comprehensive program that prepares nurses for hire and preceptorship into the labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care settings. Taught by numerous leading perinatal experts in a multidisciplinary style, this program is designed to bridge the gap between theory and actual clinical practice. Originally part of the Regional Perinatal System's education initiative to reduce maternal and infant mortality, this program has been well vetted for many years, and is continuously looked to as a standard for obstetric education. Current, evidence-based guidelines and best practices are utilized to deliver course content in a meaningful, convenient, and practical manner.

MNNC covers all aspects of perinatal care. *Unique from other OB programs, MNNC includes Basic Fetal Monitoring, Antenatal Testing Procedures, and Medical-Legal Considerations in Perinatal Nursing.*
