  • We'll identify and distinguish between the various hypertensive disorders in pregnancy through examination of diagnostic criteria. A thorough but easy-to-understand discussion of preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome pathophysiology will enhance your nursing assessment skills, and anticipated management strategies will be outlined to implement a plan of care for high risk hypertensive patients.

  • A comprehensive discussion of potential etiologies for bleeding disorders affecting all trimesters of pregnancy will be outlined. Pathophysiology and important nursing assessment skills will be identified, as well as management strategies so you’re on your toes and ready to intervene in any bleeding scenario!

  • A dynamic discussion about ‘all-things” preterm labor (PTL), preterm birth (PTB), and preterm premature/prelabor rupture of membranes (PPROM). We’ll identify preventative approaches along with risk factors, warning signs, and early intervention. Important tocolytic therapies will be thoroughly outlined, along with risks and benefits of various management strategies for these high risk patients.

  • With a focus primarily on twins, we'll identifying the differences in zygocity and chorionicity, and understand the various complications that multiples often endure. We’ll delve into the anticipated prenatal and antepartum management strategies, and outline important nursing assessments of multiple gestation pregnancies in the L&D and Postpartum care settings.
